Ayodhya: In response to multiple road collapses and waterlogging along various stretches of the recently constructed Ram Path in Ayodhya, the Uttar Pradesh government has suspended six civic agency officials for egregious negligence.

Following rain on June 23 and 25, about fifteen bylanes and streets along the Ram Path were inundated. Along the road, houses were submerged as well.

Additionally, more than a dozen locations throughout the 14 kilometer stretch had sections cave in.

Executive Engineer Dhruv Aggarwal, Assistant Engineer Anuj Deshwal, and Junior Engineer Prabhat Pandey of the Public Works Department (PWD) and Executive Engineer Anand Kumar Dubey, Assistant Engineer Rajendra Kumar Yadav, and Junior Engineer Mohammad Shahid of the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam are among the suspended officials.


Vinod Kumar, the Special Secretary, issued an order on Friday suspending Aggarwal and Deshwal.

VK Srivastav, PWD Chief Engineer (Development), issued Pandey's suspension order.

Rakesh Kumar Mishra, the managing director of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam, gave the directives suspending the three engineers.

In relation to the matter, Bhuvan Infracom Private Limited, a contractor located in Ahmedabad, has also received a notice from the State government.
