Day 16 box office receipts for Kalki 2898 AD
Prabhas completes his comeback as the phenomenal blockbuster crosses the Rs 1000 crore global mark.
As it entered its third week of release, the hugely popular movie Kalki 2898 AD was still doing well at the box office, despite competition from Sarfira in the north and Indian 2 in the south. The science-fiction mythological epic made Rs 5.2 crore on its sixteenth day of release in Indian theaters, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. With this, the movie's lifetime domestic box office receipts reach Rs 548 crore. The movie will reach the Rs 550 crore mark on Saturday, and by Sunday, it ought to surpass Animal's Rs 553 crore lifetime domestic box office haul.
After more than five years of disappointment, Prabhas' film Kalki has become a critical and commercial success. After the release of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Prabhas starred in a string of high-profile failures.
