Delhi, New: Based on the economic outlook of the individuals surveyed across many countries, a recent global poll has placed India, along with Singapore and Indonesia, among the top three most optimistic nations.

According to the June Ipsos "What Worries the World" survey, up to 69% of Indian respondents think their nation is headed in the right way. This is a belief that is shared by 79% of Singaporeans and 70% of Indonesians.

This is a far cry from the global norm, where only 38% of people have this optimistic view. According to the report, urban Indians' top concern is inflation (38%), closely followed by unemployment (35%).

In contrast to the last survey, anxiety levels have significantly decreased, with concerns about unemployment rising by 9% and inflation falling by 3%.


The scenario is far grimmer globally. The main worries were found to be inflation (33%), crime and violence (30%), unemployment (27%), poverty and social inequality (29%) and financial and political corruption (25%) in that order.
