Women find 'treasure trove' in Kerala trench.

Kannur: They initially remained at a safe distance, believing it to be a bomb. They then thought it might be black magic, or "koodothram." However, a group of female laborers never dreamed that they would discover a "treasure trove," which they eventually bravely uncovered.
This is precisely what transpired on Thursday when daily wage workers at a private rubber plantation in Chengalayi, this district, dug up a rainwater gathering trench. The antique coins and priceless jewels within the container they found are thought to be quite valuable.
The villagers view it as an invaluable treasure trove, even though its value and antiquity can only be determined following a thorough inspection by the Archaeology Department. Police hurried to the scene on Thursday itself after learning of the find and retrieved the "treasure."
They later presented the coins and gems to a local court. The female employees claimed they never would have imagined that the container would contain valuable jewelry or currencies when the story broke on Saturday.
"We noticed something glistening within the cavity...It was an antiquated container. At first, we believed it to be a bomb. Then, one of the women remarked, "we wondered if it was some kind of koodothram, or black magic."
