Dig at "Brothers" by Supriya Sule, Days After Ajit Pawar's "Mistake" Allegation

New Delhi: Supriya Sule, the head of the NCP (SP), made a scathing jab at Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra and her cousin, alleging that he had mixed personal and professional connections. Ajit Pawar stated that he "regretted" to field his wife, Sunetra Pawar, against Ms. Sule in the Lok Sabha election earlier this year, days before Ms. Sule's remarks.
NCP founder Sharad Pawar's daughter Ms. Sule stated: "The state government did not remember beloved Sisters during Lok Sabha polls, their love started overflowing during assembly polls."
Sadly, our brothers were unable to distinguish between business and relationships. Relationships should not be based on money, and business should not be based on relationships. Our sibling, though, was unable to comprehend this. This has severely wounded us," she added.

The criticism from Ms. Sule did not end there. She launched a more general attack on the NDA administration, charging it with utilizing welfare programs as political ploys rather than out of true care for the populace. "The only reason this government acts is to get votes. They don't take any real action. This is how the Lok Sabha elections have affected things. Sisters received no affection or concern from anyone two years ago. She said that this was only the result of the Lok Sabha elections.

The remarks seemed to be aimed at the Maharashtra government's much-discussed "Ladki Bahin" programme.

At present, Ajit Pawar is traveling the entire state on his 'Jan Samman Yatra,' advocating for several government programs, such as the Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana. This initiative, which provides women with ₹ 1,500 monthly, has been the subject of debate. Ms. Sule has criticized the program and asked women to take the money out of their accounts. "I request my Ladli Behan to withdraw the money quickly as you cannot trust this government," she stated.

However, her remarks came at a strange time—a few days after her cousin apologized for running his wife, Sunetra Pawar, against Supriya Sule in the Baramati Lok Sabha seat.

All of my sisters are loved. Politics shouldn't be allowed inside of homes. I erred by pitting Sunetra against my sibling. This was not supposed to occur. However, the NCP parliamentary board took a stand. Ajit Pawar said on Monday to a Marathi news channel, "I feel now that it was wrong."
In the Baramati constituency, Sunetra Pawar was unable to remove Ms. Sule from office.
This year's elections are planned for the 288-seat Maharashtra assembly. Ms. Sule, a member of the Congress and the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), is an ally of the NCP led by Sharad Pawar.
