Siddaramaiah wants Karnataka residents to study Kannada out of pride
The chief minister of Karnataka insists that people should swear to speak only Kannada.
Bengaluru: Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah called on all Kannada speakers to acquire the language, stressing that it is their duty to preserve the language, the land, and the water. It should be an honor to speak one's mother tongue, according to the Chief Minister.
It is necessary for everyone to choose to communicate with Karnataka residents in Kannada. Making a commitment to speak only Kannada is required. Kannada people are giving. Because of this, anyone in Karnataka, including those who speak other languages, can get by without learning Kannada, according to Siddaramaiah, who made this statement at a public event in Bengaluru.

As part of the Karnataka Namakarana Suvarna Mahotsava celebrations organized by the Department of Kannada and Culture, he had just completed Bhoomi Puja for the building of a bronze statue of Nada Devi Bhuvaneshwari near the western entrance of Vidhana Soudha when he addressed the group.
