Vivo announced on Monday (May 20) that the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro will soon launch in India. Ahead of its debut, a dedicated microsite on Flipkart is teasing the design of the upcoming foldable smartphone. Initially launched in China, it features a circular rear camera housing, a carbon fiber hinge, and a V3 imaging chip. Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, it sports a 6.53-inch cover display and an 8.03-inch internal folding panel. Previous foldable phones from Vivo were only available in the Chinese market.
In a post on X, Vivo confirmed the launch of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro in India. It will be available for sale via Flipkart, with the e-commerce website creating a dedicated landing page for the launch. The teaser showcases the hinge design with the tagline "The Best Fold Ever." However, the exact launch date has not been revealed by the brand.
According to previous leaks, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is expected to arrive in India at the beginning of July. It was initially launched in China in March with a price starting at CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 1,16,000) for the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant.
Over the past few years, Vivo has introduced foldable smartphones, but they have all been restricted to the Chinese market. This trend is set to change with the launch of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro in India. In the Indian market, it will potentially compete with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5, OnePlus Open, and the Tecno Phantom V Fold.
The Chinese variant of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro runs on Android 14 with OriginOS 4 layered on top. It boasts an 8.03-inch primary 2K (2,200x2,480 pixels) resolution E7 AMOLED display and a 6.53-inch (1,172x2,748 pixels) AMOLED cover display. Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, it offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS4.0 storage. Equipped with a Vivo V3 imaging chip and a carbon fiber hinge, the device features a robust build.
The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro sports a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel main camera. Both the outer and inner screens house 32-megapixel selfie shooters. Additionally, it boasts an IPX8 rating for dust and water resistance and is fueled by a 5,700mAh lithium battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
