South Africa, who was put in the Group of Death, defeated the United States of America by 18 runs on Wednesday to start the T20 World Cup's Super 8 stage. South Africa-born Andries Gous, who scored an unbeaten 80 off 47 balls to help the US chase 195 for victory at North Sound (Antigua), kept the game close until the 18th over, when fast bowler Kagiso Rabada bowled a crucial 19th over that saw him allow only two runs and remove Harmeet Singh from the game. The US never really recovered from it because, in the end, the relief in South Africa's camp told a tale all by itself.
