Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced Jitesh Sharma’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their last home match of the current Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday.

SRH bowled first and allowed Punjab to score 214/5 in 20 overs due to a strong batting effort. Prabhsimran Singh and Atharva Taide had a 97-run partnership for the first wicket, and Rilee Rossouw and Jitesh finished well.

SRH needed a win to finish in the top two. They secured a spot in the final-four after their match against Gujarat Titans at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium was washed out.

Punjab played with only one overseas player since most of their team returned home. For PBKS, it was a chance to end on a high note after failing to reach the final four again. PBKS missed their England players, including stand-in captain Sam Curran, who was crucial in their five-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals.
