List of Master Trainers in Indian Knowledge Systems Released by University Body
After completing the IKS Master's Program, about 193 faculty members are qualified to instruct other faculty members.
New Delhi: In an announcement, the University Grants Commission (UGC) listed the different Master Trainers for Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in contemporary education. According to the UGC's official announcement, the university has put in place a number of programs to train professors in IKS. Publicating rules, holding training sessions at Human Resource Development Centers (HRDCs), and requiring introduction and refresher courses are some of these activities.
The UGC's announcement states, "As you are aware, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) integration with modern education is emphasized in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, acknowledging the rich legacy of ancient Indian wisdom. The interdisciplinary method offers a comprehensive education by fusing contemporary knowledge with traditional wisdom. The policy requires secondary school teachers to create interesting IKS courses electives, ensuring early exposure. "
Through the creation of research centers and project financing, NEP 2020 further promotes IKS research. It also places a strong emphasis on educating educators in IKS through workshops and specialized programs. Integrating IKS promotes pride and togetherness among students while protecting cultural legacy and providing original answers to current problems in industries like architecture, agriculture, and medicine.
Up until date, the UGC has conducted Stage-l: Basic Training in Indian Knowledge Systems training for 1,000 faculty members nationwide in partnership with the Ministry of Education's IKS Division.
Selected professors have completed Stage-Il: Masters Training in IKS in order to address the need of qualified faculty and to meet the aim of training 10,000 faculty members in the upcoming years.
In order to get more specialized knowledge and a deeper grasp of IKS, the Master Trainers have also finished Stage III: Discipline-Specific Training.
After completing the Masters Program in IKS, a total of 193 faculty members are now qualified to instruct other faculty members.
