New Delhi: In order to address the growing climate change catastrophe, billionaire CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk has pushed for a carbon dioxide tax.
"If we do need to tax something, it should be something that could be harmful rather than something that could be helpful, like we do with fruits and vegetables instead of tobacco and alcohol," he continued.
The tech mogul acknowledged that the long-term risk is extremely significant, even if one considers life simply at a fixed CO2 level, but he disagreed with others who think this issue will be disastrous in the next five to ten years.
In a graphic that was connected to his X post, he stated that while 400 parts per million is the optimal level of outdoor air, the current levels are substantially higher—at least 800 parts per million compared to the ideal—and that anything over 1,000 parts per million would be considered out of control.
