In the Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, a man was killed by an irate mob after they were accused of desecrating the holy Quran. In the commotion that followed the Thursday night event in Madyan tehsil, eight other people were also injured.

In the picturesque Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in northwest Pakistan, a man was slain by an enraged mob for allegedly desecrating the Holy Quran. Eight people were hurt in the ensuing turmoil, according to police.
According to Zahidullah, the District Police Officer (DPO) for Swat, a guy from Punjab's Sialkot district is suspected of burning many pages of the Holy Quran on Thursday night in Madyan tehsil.
After being detained, the suspect was transferred to the Madyan police station. A crowd assembled in front of the police station made demands for his handover. The police replied after the mob opened fire after they failed to comply. According to the DPO, one guy was gravely hurt during the gunfight and was sent to Madyan Hospital.
The police station was then set on fire by the rioters. Afterwards, according to Zahidullah, some individuals broke into the police station, shot the suspect, hauled his body to Madyan Adda, and hanged it there.
The incident caused commotion that resulted in eight injuries. He continued, "There has been a significant police presence in Madyan, and efforts are underway to stabilize the situation."
KPK Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister, has taken notice of the desecration event and requested a report from the head of the province police.
The CM asked everyone to maintain composure and peace while giving the IGP emergency orders to manage the situation.
