India must close deficit ahead of Jharkhand state elections.
The BJP secured a majority of the 81 Assembly seats in the latest Lok Sabha elections; however, India has hope due to the Hemant Soren factor and the 2019 example of state results that deviated from the LS.
A concerning indication for the alliance ahead of the state elections later this year is that, despite their gains from the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the INDIA bloc parties in Jharkhand still behind the NDA in terms of Assembly segments. This is true even though the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has gained support due to the sympathy vote cast in response to the detention of Hemant Soren, a former chief minister and party leader.
In Jharkhand, the JMM, Congress, and RJD have been allies since before India was even a nation.
