AAP MP Swati Maliwal was visited in New Delhi by Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh and Delhi Women's Commission member Vandana.
Leader of the Aam Aadmi Party Sanjay Singh paid party MP Swati Maliwal a visit at her New Delhi home on Wednesday. This occurs one day after Singh claimed that Bibhav Kumar, the chief minister of Delhi, "misbehaved" with Maliwal and that Kejriwal took strong action as a result.
Vandana, a member of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), went with Singh. Maliwal served as the DCW's previous chair.
Maliwal, an AAP member of the Rajya Sabha, claimed on Monday that she was "assaulted" at the chief minister's official residence by a member of Arvind Kejriwal's personal staff. She didn't, however, submit an official complaint. A day later, Sanjay Singh stated at a press conference that Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal's private secretary, "misbehaved" with Maliwal and that the AAP chief would take strong action.
Maliwal had gone to see Arvind Kejriwal at his house yesterday. Bibhav Kumar mistreated her as she waited to meet him in the drawing room. This is a very regrettable occurrence. Singh stated, "Kejriwal has acknowledged it and will take strong action regarding the incident.
This sparked a heated debate in the nation's capital, with the BJP calling for an instant FIR.
Directly addressing the AAP leader on the matter, the Delhi BJP leaders declared that Kejriwal ought to fire his deputy or resign as chief minister. On Wednesday, BJP workers and leaders—including Mahila Morcha activists—staged a protest outside the chief minister's house in Delhi, calling for an investigation into the incident.
Virendra Sachdeva, the president of the Delhi BJP, questioned Kejriwal's silence regarding the purported incident and called for action against those responsible.
Respect and honor are at stake for the woman who served as the Delhi Commission for Women's chief. Our purpose is to assist her. Leader of the AAP Sanjay Singh has acknowledged the incident. Sachdeva questioned, "Why isn't Kejriwal filing a police complaint against the person involved in it?
Former Aam Aadmi Party member and BJP national spokesperson Shazia Ilmi raised concerns about Maliwal's safety and asked Kejriwal if she was being coerced into making "some kind of a compromise."
It's clear that she was assaulted at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's house... I am extremely familiar with every character in Aam Aadmi Party. It is not possible that Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal's right hand, would act in this manner if Kejriwal hadn't given the order. It really is a very serious matter. If Arvind Kejriwal is unable to ask Bibhav to step down, he should own up to this and offer his resignation, Ilmi stated.
The Rajya Sabha MP's alleged assault will be investigated by an inquiry team, according to the National Commission for Women (NCW). The NCW further declared that it will formally correspond with the Delhi Police to request an action taken report (ATR) regarding the issue.
