IIT Madras now offers UG admissions based on athletic excellence, determined by JEE results.
IIT Madras asserts that it was the first IIT in the nation to accept athletes for undergraduate admissions.
Beginning with the 2024–2025 academic year, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) will provide "Sports Excellence Admission" (SEA). The institute said that it will provide two supernumerary seats in a statement. One of these will be reserved solely for female students in each of the Indian undergraduate programs.
IIT Madras asserts that it was the first IIT in the nation to accept athletes for undergraduate admissions. The goal of this program is to further inspire worthy individuals to seek additional education while maintaining their athletic excellence.
