CUET UG 2024: NTA Denies Paper Leak Allegations in Kanpur, Plans Retest
The National Testing Agency (NTA) denied claims of a ‘paper leak’ during the ongoing common university entrance test for undergraduate admissions (CUET-UG) in Kanpur. They explained that wrong question papers were handed out at a center, and they will re-conduct the exam for 220 affected students on May 29.
NTA will also hold the CUET UG exam for Delhi centers on May 29, as the May 15 exam was postponed the night before due to unavoidable reasons.
CUET Postponed in Delhi, Students Confused, Blame NTA
There were claims of a paper leak at an exam center in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. However, the testing agency clarified that it was a case of incorrect distribution of question papers.

NTA Official Statement
“There was no paper leak. Invigilators mistakenly gave English medium question papers to Hindi medium students during the General Test exam on Thursday in Kanpur. The NTA will re-conduct the exam for over 220 affected students on May 29,” said a senior NTA official.
NTA will also hold the CUET UG exam for Delhi centers on May 29, as the May 15 exam was postponed the night before due to unavoidable reasons.
Similar Incident with NEET UG Exam
A similar mistake happened during the NEET UG exam, when Hindi medium students received English medium question papers at a center in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. Their exam was conducted on the same day, May 5, 2024. NTA also denied any paper leak reports in the NEET UG exam.
Hybrid Mode for the First Time
The third edition of the country’s largest test is being held in hybrid mode for the first time. Exams for four subjects — Chemistry, Biology, English, and General Test — were scheduled on Wednesday.
CUET UG Admit Cards Released
The offline tests will take place between May 15 and May 19, followed by computer-based tests for other subjects from May 21 to May 24.
Attendance Rates
The first day of the test had 75% attendance, while the second day had 79% attendance.
