Since February 13, the farmers have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points after their 'Delhi Chalo' march was halted by security forces.

Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stated that farmers had gathered at Shambhu, Khanauri, and Dabwali border points for the occasion. Pandher accused the BJP-led central government of obstructing their movement towards Delhi to sustain their protests and denounced the deployment of heavy police forces at the border points between Punjab and Haryana.

The Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee leader mentioned that the farmers intended to raise questions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Patiala on Thursday. If they are not granted access, they plan to stage a dharna.

Modi will launch his election campaign in the state by hosting his debut rally in Patiala on May 23. Voting for the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab is scheduled for June 1. BJP candidates in Punjab are encountering farmer protests during their Lok Sabha election campaigns.

As part of their protests, farmers pose questions to BJP leaders and display black flags to express their dissatisfaction with the leaders' failure to meet their demands. Farmers affiliated with various agricultural organizations are frustrated with the Centre's refusal to fulfill their requests, particularly regarding legislation on minimum support price. They are also discontented about being prevented from traveling to Delhi, which has led them to camp at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points of Punjab and Haryana.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha are leading the 'Delhi Chalo' march by farmers to push the government to meet their demands, which includes securing a legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price for crops from the Centre.
