Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah Will Face Charges in Land Scam Case
Investigated for a land scam is Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Bengaluru: Siddaramaiah, the senior Congress politician and chief minister of Karnataka, will face legal action regarding the Mysuru Urban Development Authority's (MUDA) suspected anomalies in site allocations.
Based on petitions submitted by social activists, Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot has approved his prosecution in the MUDA land scam case. The receipt of this communication has been confirmed by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
The charges were previously described as "politically motivated" by Siddaramaiah.
The Chief Minister was given a "show-cause notice" by the Governor last month, which required him to respond to the accusations against him and provide justification for not being charged.
This led to a state cabinet motion requesting that the governor refrain from approving the prosecution. Additionally, the administration led by Siddaramaiah had asked him to revoke the notice and accused the governor of "gross misuse of the Constitutional Office."
