New Delhi: Beginning on September 1, Air India will run two daily flights on the Delhi–London route using its wide-body A350-900 aircraft.

As Air India revamps and grows its operations to boost footprint in both local and international segments, the flights will mark the introduction of the aircraft on the international long-haul route.

On 14 of the 17 weekly flights, the A350-900 will take the place of the Boeing 777-300 ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that are currently in service. Consequently, 336 extra tickets would be offered weekly on the Delhi-London Heathrow route, the airline announced in a statement on Thursday.

In addition, the airline will start offering premium economy class seats on the A350-900 aircraft that fly from Delhi to London Heathrow. Beginning on September 1, Air India will use the A350-900 to run two daily flights between the nation's capital and London Heathrow.


On May 1, the airline began offering services between Delhi and Dubai on the international route using the A350-900 aircraft. The airline, owned by the Tata Group, has 31 weekly flights between Delhi and Mumbai to London Heathrow. It
