"Breaking: Mamata Banerjee Calls Centre's Citizenship Grants Under CAA an 'Orchestrated Lie' – Shocking Details Revealed!"

'Orchestrated lie': Mamata Banerjee responds to the Centre's granting of citizenship under CAA.

Mamata Banerjee cautioned people against applying for citizenship under CAA and accused the BJP of disseminating advertisements containing false information.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted on Friday that the Central government's statement regarding granting citizenship to 14 individuals under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act was a "lie". She characterized the announcement as "political" maneuvering during the Lok Sabha elections.

Mamata Banerjee alleged at rallies in West Bengal that the Central government would incarcerate those granted citizenship after labeling them as foreigners.

"Mamata Banerjee cautioned people against applying for citizenship under CAA, accusing the BJP of disseminating advertisements containing false information. According to PTI, she stated, 'The BJP is publishing advertisements with false information. One such advertisement says that migrant Hindu and Sikh communities can apply for citizenship under the CAA. Please don't believe them, you (the electorate) are all already bona fide citizens. If you apply, you will be driven out by being branded as a foreigner.' Banerjee asserted that the 'entire thing is a lie orchestrated by the BJP just as they did in Sandeshkhali.' She urged the people of the Matua community not to fall for the alleged deception."

"This is falsehood and merely a part of pre-election politics. After the elections, people will be evicted from their homes and thrown into jails. Do not trust the BJP," she added.

The CAA was enacted in 2019. However, in March this year, the Central government finally notified its rules.

The law facilitates citizenship for non-Muslim refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh who faced persecution and entered India before December 31, 2014.

Mamata Banerjee contends that the law discriminates against Muslims. She has pledged not to implement the law in West Bengal and to revoke it if the INDIA bloc comes to power at the Centre.

On Wednesday, the Central government issued the first set of citizenship certificates under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act to 14 individuals.

The BJP has pledged in its Lok Sabha elections manifesto to grant citizenship to eligible individuals under CAA.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah have stated in their rallies that CAA will not be revoked.
