Rashid sends home a message following his historic victory over the Australians: "Roll up your sleeves, celebrate, and dance."

Both countries have a past. After the Taliban took over in 2021, Australia declined to play a bilateral series against Afghanistan. They were protesting the regime's ban on women participating in sports. The heated 50-over World Cup match between Australia and Afghanistan in India last year fueled the flames.

Rashid sends home a message following his historic victory over the Australians: "Roll up your sleeves, celebrate, and dance."

Moments after Afghanistan's historic 21-run victory against Australia in the T20 World Cup Super 8 match at Kingstown, a video explaining the significance of the conquest for the country that has witnessed numerous invasions in the past appeared on the team's social media account.

In the video, 25-year-old captain Rashid Khan and 33-year-old Man of the Match Gulbadin Naib passionately sang a Pashto verse. Subtitles were absent. Given that these were the team's two seasoned veterans speaking to their home fans directly, perhaps there was no need.
