Assam flood: Brahmaputra surges; 1.05 lakh people are warned to expect severe rain.

According to ASDMA, the water level of the Kopili River, a tributary of the Brahmaputra River, is likewise high near Kampur in the Nagaon district, exceeding the danger level marker.
The water level was fluctuating, a district resident informed ANI. "There is a statue in the middle of the river and when the water reaches its neck, we realize that the water level has risen," a resident explained.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that severe to very heavy rain is anticipated to fall until June 20 in several parts of the nation, including Assam and Meghalaya, which might make the situation worse.
It is especially noted by IMD that June 18 is expected to see exceptionally high rainfall.
"Assam and Meghalaya are very likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) on 16th & 17th June and exceptionally heavy rainfall on 18th June whereas likely to get heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) on 19 and 20th June," IMD tweeted on Sunday, June 16.
