Army steps up rescue efforts in Wayanad landslides; 1000 people are moved

Wayanad: Following disastrous landslides, the Indian Army stepped up rescue efforts in Kerala's Wayanad, successfully transporting over 1,000 people to safety. About seventy victims' bodies have been found as of Wednesday morning. An official release states that the NDRF and state rescue teams are working in tandem with four columns from the DSC Centre in Kannur and the 122 TA Battalion. One officer, one JCO, and three ORs made up the advance party from MEG & Center, which came at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday to conduct reconnaissance on Meppadi-Chooralmala Road and determine whether bridge resources were required in the impacted regions.
