Fabio Carvalho Leaves Liverpool To Join Brentford

On Monday, the London team revealed that Fabio Carvalho has signed a five-year contract to join Brentford from Liverpool. The 21-year-old Portuguese forward will initially cost the Bees 22.5 million pounds ($28.7 million, 26.3 million euros), with an additional 5 million pounds in add-ons, according to British media reports. No fee was stated. In addition, Liverpool would be entitled to a sell-on price of 17.5% for a player they acquired for five million pounds two years ago from Fulham, another London-based Premier League team.

Additionally, Carvalho's contract has the possibility of a one-year extension.

According to the Brentford website, "Fabio is a player with a lot of qualities," according to manager Thomas Frank.

"He can play in all of the front three or four positions," the Dane continued  in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1. His best position is probably as a number 10 or coming in from the left."

He is a fantastic offensive player who can get past opponents, slide a pass, create opportunities, and convert them. We don't have many players like him on the team, so he will provide that extra bit of quality for us.

"He has an extremely strong work ethic and capacity to perform well under duress.

"That goes along with the fact that he is the ideal character and checks all the cultural boxes. Thus, we're thrilled to have him join and advance the group."
Carvalho played for Hull in the English second division past season after spending time on loan at German team RB Leipzig. In 20 appearances, he scored nine goals.

Brentford scored 13 points in the end above the relegation zone last season, begin the new Premier League campaign at home to London rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday.
