Ram and Puri are back with Double iSmart, the film's sequel, and judging by the teaser, they've turned up the OTT factor to ridiculous proportions.
When Puri Jagannadh offered us iSmart Shankar five years ago, it was a first-of-its-kind movie that addressed a topic no one had considered before: is it possible to make a mass-masala sci-fi movie that is also distinctly Telugu? iSmart Shankar became a financial success despite the template's borrowing from the Indian horror film cliche, which is about a soul entering the protagonist to fulfill its intentions. This trope has been overdone to an extreme degree. Five years later, Ram and Puri are back with Double iSmart, the film's sequel, and based on the teaser, it looks like they've turned the OTT factor up to eleven.
