After they publicly criticized state unit chief K Annamalai and senior leader Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Tamil Nadu BJP suspended two party leaders from their positions due to party discipline violations.
Former member of the TN BJP's intellectual wing Kalyan Raman has been suspended from the party for a year and stripped of all party positions.
In a same vein, Trichy Suriya, the general secretary of the TN BJP's OBC section, has been dismissed from all party duties.

The two politicians were accused by the BJP of breaking party rules and damaging the party's reputation.

Following the results of the Lok Sabha election, Kalyan Raman has been critical of K Annamalai's leadership and his "war room." He expressed open doubts about Annamalai's approach to decision-making and functioning.

But, the saffron party charged Kalyan Raman of slandering the state leadership and party members on social media without sufficient proof in a statement announcing the disciplinary action.

In recent interviews, Trichy Suriya expressed disapproval against senior BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan.

The party has instructed its employees and functionaries to avoid interacting with these two leaders.

Following the BJP core committee meeting, K Annamalai addressed the media, pointing out that he had noticed certain party members criticizing their own leaders on social media platforms and YouTube channels, and assured that disciplinary action was forthcoming.
