Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP, has not yet decided whether to retain his seat in Wayanad, Kerala, or Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. KC Venugopal, the general secretary of the party and a Rajya Sabha MP, stated that he will decide within the next three to four days.
"This decision has to be taken before the 17th and it will come in 3-4 days," Venugopal stated.
Gandhi should be designated as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, according to a resolution endorsed by the Congress Working Committee. He is rumored to decide quickly whether or not to accept the position.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari stated following the CWC meeting, "Rahul Gandhi should absolutely become (LoP in Lok Sabha)." This was our working committee's request. He is brave and bold."
A number of party leaders had earlier in the day expressed their desire for Rahul Gandhi to assume the pivotal role.
