Prajwal also asserted that he is experiencing depression and offered his apologies to his grandfather and former PM HD Deve Gowda.
Almost a month after leaving the country, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna announced that he would appear before a special investigation team (SIT) at 10 am on May 31 regarding the sexual harassment case against him. He also revealed his struggle with depression and apologized to his grandfather and former PM HD Deve Gowda.
In the video, Prajwal Revanna stated, "I am releasing this video to clarify my whereabouts. Following the conclusion of the Lok Sabha polls, various cases were filed against me and an SIT was formed. My trip abroad was pre-planned and unrelated to these cases. I was only made aware of the SIT notice and responded through my advocate."
He went on to mention that he experienced depression after facing criticism from Congress leaders. "Following the spread of rumors by Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, I fell into depression and withdrew from social interaction. There is a political conspiracy aimed at ending my career, but I am prepared to confront it," he added.
Prajwal Revanna announced that he will appear before the SIT on May 31. He stated, "I will attend the SIT investigation in Bengaluru at 10 am on May 31 and fully cooperate with the probe. I have complete faith in the judicial system and believe that I will prove my innocence."
He also expressed apologies to his JDS chief and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, as well as to his uncle Kumaraswamy.
Last week, HD Deve Gowda sent a warning letter to Prajwal, urging him to surrender to the police. He remarked, "I can only issue a strong warning to Prajwal and urge him to return from wherever he is and surrender to the police. He must comply with the legal process. This is not a request, but a stern warning."
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has written to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) requesting the suspension of Prajwal Revanna's diplomatic passport and his repatriation to India.
