Arriving in New York for knee surgery is the Dalai Lama
Tibetan spiritual leader made a stopover in Switzerland, where he was greeted warmly at a Zurich hotel.
New York: On Saturday, the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, left Zurich, Switzerland, and arrived in New York.
The Dalai Lama HHDL was greeted on Sunday by members of the Tibetan community and well-wishers upon his arrival in New York City.
On Friday, the Dalai Lama departed Dharamshala for Delhi in order to travel to the US for his knee surgery.
When he arrived at a Zurich hotel during his stop in Switzerland, he was greeted in a customary Tibetan manner. The Dalai Lama made his way across the hotel foyer, watched by his well-wishers and visitors. He passed through the Zurich hotel lobby and encountered an old buddy.
As the Dalai Lama arrived at his Zurich hotel, thousands of Tibetans and well-wishers with bouquets waited on the road to greet him. While they awaited his arrival at the hotel, Tibetan artists entertained the audience with traditional music and dances.
