Passengers on the turbulence-affected SQ321 aircraft can receive .

The 211 passengers on Singapore Airlines' turbulence-plagued London to Singapore trip last month, which resulted in one passenger's death and others injuries, were offered monetary compensation and a complete refund of their airfare on Tuesday.

Extreme turbulence was experienced by Flight SQ321, which was traveling from London to Singapore, on May 21. When the Boeing 777-300ER plane made an emergency landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, it had 211 passengers and 18 staff members on board. One man died and numerous others were injured as the passengers and crew were flung up to the plane's ceiling and then fell back down.

The SIA said in a statement that passengers received compensation offers on Monday. Compensation of USD 10,000 (SGD 13,500) was extended to those who suffered "minor injuries" in the incident.

The statement added, "We have invited those who sustained more serious injuries from the incident to discuss a compensation offer to meet each of their specific circumstances as soon as they feel well and are ready to do so."

"An advance payment of USD 25,000 is offered to passengers who are medically assessed as having sustained serious injuries, requiring long-term medical care, and requesting financial assistance to address their immediate needs," the SIA stated. It further stated, "This will be a portion of the ultimate compensation that these passengers will receive."

All passengers on Flight SQ321 will receive a full refund of their money, even if they were not injured.

According to UK or EU standards, they would also be compensated for delays, the SIA stated. There was no mention of pay for the eighteen crew members on Flight SQ321, according to a report from Channel News Asia.

The national airline of Singapore reported that, in addition, it gave each passenger SGD $1,000 to cover their immediate expenses when they left Bangkok.

It further stated that, upon request, it arranged for the family members of injured passengers to travel to Bangkok and paid for their medical bills.

According to the statement, "SIA remains committed to supporting the affected passengers who were on board SQ321."

It also stated that "all affected passengers should have received information on how to proceed with their claims, along with their offers of compensation, via email." In addition to other passengers suffering brain and spinal cord damage, British traveler Geoff Kitchen,73, passed away on board, most likely from a heart attack.

A 52-year-old dancer from Australia was severely injured on the trip, leaving her paralyzed from the chest down.

The Advertiser, an Adelaide newspaper, stated that Kerry Jordan broke her spine at the C7-T1 region, which connects the neck and upper back. In addition, she sustained fractures to her ribs, the C1 and C2 vertebrae at the top of her spine, and a brain bleed.
