Nana Patekar Speaks on Elder Son Durvasa's Passing: "He Had Been Ill Since Birth"

In a recent interview with Lallantop, Nana Patekar, renowned for his role in Welcome, candidly discussed the loss of his elder son Durvasa. Patekar revealed, "My eldest son was ill from birth, facing various health complications. He had an issue with one of his eyes that wasn't visibly apparent. I felt ashamed when I saw him, worrying about others' perceptions of my son rather than his own feelings. His name was Durvasa, and he spent two and a half years with us. But in life, certain things happen that we cannot control."
Nana Patekar also grabbed attention recently when discussing his absence from Welcome 3. During the trailer launch of The Vaccine War, where he plays a prominent role, Patekar was asked about not being in the latest installment of the comedy franchise. He responded, "I am not part of it; perhaps they feel I have become too old-fashioned."
Nana Patekar, a three-time National Film Award winner, is celebrated for his roles in acclaimed films like Natsamrat, Wajood, Parinda, Ab Tak Chhappan, and Yeshwant, among others. His latest appearance was in The Vaccine War, where he portrayed Balram Bhargava, the former Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Bhargava played a pivotal role in managing the pandemic and was a key member of India's Covid working group.
