Microsoft Copilot for Telegram Released in Beta: Available to All Users for Free!

Microsoft Copilot for Telegram Enters Beta Phase, Now Accessible to All Users at No Cost

Microsoft has introduced its Copilot artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot to the popular messaging platform Telegram. This integration, announced on Tuesday, expands Copilot's functionalities within the app, enabling Telegram users to engage in conversations, ask questions, and perform internet searches using Copilot. Although currently in beta, the feature is freely available to all users. However, there is a daily limit of 30 turns (or 30 back-and-forth messages) when utilizing the AI.

Accessing Copilot on Telegram is simple. Users have two options: they can visit Microsoft's dedicated microsite for the feature and click on the "Try Now" button to be directed to the Copilot chatbot within the Telegram app, or they can manually search for Copilot within the messaging app.

It's crucial for users who opt for the latter method to ensure they are interacting with the authentic Copilot chatbot. This can be verified by checking for a blue checkmark next to the name, as there are multiple bots with the same name, some of which may be malicious.

As of now, Copilot is solely available as a text-to-text chatbot and does not have the ability to generate images. However, it can access the internet and provide responses to web-based queries. Microsoft recommends utilizing the AI bot for various purposes, including seeking cheat codes and walkthroughs for video games, movie recommendations, dating advice, recipes, live sports scores, personalized playlists, and more.

Engaging with Copilot is quite simple, especially if you're familiar with using bots on Telegram. For those new to it, you can utilize the "/ideas" command to receive examples of what the AI can assist with, while "/restart" will clear the current context of a response and begin anew. These instructions, along with similar methods, are displayed by the chatbot upon entering the chat for the first time.

Before users can engage with the chatbot, they are required to register using their phone number. While this might raise concerns for some users due to Telegram's emphasis on privacy, Microsoft addresses these concerns on its microsite. The company assures users that Copilot on Telegram relies on the same safety infrastructure as the Microsoft Copilot experience.
