Mamaearth's Ghazal Alagh thanks PM Modi: 'With your blessings and the support of the government...'

Vowing to create hundreds of thousands of jobs in the coming decade, Ghazal Alagh expressed her desire to promote Indian "beauty to the world" through her company.

Mamaearth co-founder Ghazal Alagh thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he praised her husband, Varun Alagh. Vowing to create hundreds of thousands of jobs in the next decade, Ghazal Alagh expressed her ambition to showcase Indian "beauty to the world and raise the Indian flag everywhere" through her company.

She mentioned that PM Modi's recognition had fueled her enthusiasm and reinforced her determination to succeed. She stated, "Thank you, @narendramodiji. With your blessings and the support of the Modi government, we will create thousands of jobs in the next 10 years. This genuinely ignites our passion and strengthens our resolve to succeed. We are committed to showcasing Indian beauty globally and hoisting the Indian flag everywhere."

This follows PM Modi's response to a video posted by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, where Varun Alagh mentioned that Mamaearth was able to generate employment due to the supportive environment facilitated by the central government.

Varun Alagh stated, "Currently, we employ over 10,000 individuals. This wouldn't have been achievable without the ecosystem established by the Modi government."

"We both come from middle-class backgrounds, including my wife Ghazal and me. In 2016, Startup India was launched, and that's when we resigned from our jobs and decided to establish this company. In just seven years, we have taken the company public and now employ over 10,000 people," he added.

PM Modi responded to Varun Alagh's remarks, stating, "Keep up the excellent work and keep inspiring others with your success, Varun! Our government actively promotes startups and wealth creation. We take pride in the youthful enthusiasm present in every corner of our nation, particularly in Tier-2 and 3 cities."
