Majority of Indian Businesses Utilize AI for Content Creation: Canva Report

The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline processes and tasks is rapidly increasing among Indian businesses. Canva's annual Visual Economy Report highlights this trend with compelling statistics. The report indicates that 9 out of 10 surveyed businesses and enterprises in India are starting to use AI for content creation and visual communication tasks. Globally, the survey, encompassing 3,707 businesses (including 257 from India), shows that 73% of respondents believe that visual communication platforms or tools have enhanced overall business performance. Furthermore, 70% of businesses intend to boost investment in these tools for their employees.

“Harnessing the power of visuals enhanced with AI capabilities not only improves team communication but also provides a crucial advantage for leaders in hiring, marketing, and selling, ultimately aiming for better financial outcomes,” says Cameron Adams, co-founder and chief product officer at Canva, in a statement shared with HT. More than 92% of businesses using AI tools for visual communication have reported a significant increase in quality, while 89% have noted faster production processes in the past year.

Viewed from an Indian standpoint, more than one-third (41%) of leaders identify the challenge of collaborating across teams and navigating complex workflows (38%) as significant obstacles in content creation and scaling. This emphasizes the imperative to invest in such tools, signaling a shift in mindset underscored in the report. The advent of visual communication platforms has resulted in 97% of businesses expecting employees, even those in non-design roles, to possess some degree of design skills. According to the Canva Visual Economy Report for 2024, 85% of business leaders acknowledge that resistance to adopting technology and AI tools for designing communication hampers creativity.
