Job aspirants protest at Dharna Chowk, demand more openings.

Hyderabad: Thousands of young people without jobs and those aspiring to join the Group jobs held a massive demonstration at Dharna Chowk here on Thursday, demanding that the Congress administration raise the number of Group II openings by 2,000 and Group III postings by 3,000.

Protesters from all around the state descended on the location, demanding that the State government pick candidates for the Group-I Main exam in a 1:100 ratio rather than a 1:50 one.

As the Group-I notification was released ten years after it was first announced, the candidates requested that the government give them an equal opportunity to be selected for the 563 Group-I positions.

The unemployed youth also demanded the following: the revocation of the GO 46, the postponement of the Group-II and III exams until December, a massive notification from the District Selection Committee (DSC) for the recruitment of teachers in government and local body schools, and the provision of a relinquishment option for candidates selected for recruitment to residential educational institutions.

Sindhuja, a native of Nalgonda, claimed that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party, gave the jobless young assurances that the party will investigate and resolve their concerns if the party formed the State government.

We made the same requests of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress now.
