CHENNAI: On Thursday in the Tamil Nadu Premier League in Coimbatore, Abhishek Tanwar's late-inning barrage at the bat enabled Chepauk Super Gillies to defeat SKM Salem Spartans.

Baba Aparajith, the captain, scored 41 runs in the first innings, while Tanwar hit four sixes against Harish Kumar in the last over to push his team over 150. Impact replacement Robin Bist made 36 runs in the chase, but it was insufficient as Rahil Shah claimed three wickets to keep the Spartans 23 runs short of the objective.
