Vijayawada: One additional worker died on Friday from burn injuries, bringing the total number of fatalities from the explosion at the UltraTech cement facility in Andhra Pradesh's NTR district to three.

Arjun Rao was named as the dead, who passed away at Manipal Hospital while receiving medical care. On July 7, a blast at the boiler unit in Jaggaiahpet mandal's Budawada village injured seventeen workers.

Avula Venkatesh, one of the injured, passed away that same day while receiving medical attention. On July 10, Banawath Swami, a further casualty, passed away.

At Tadepalli's Manipal Hospital and Gollapudi Andhra Hospital, fourteen injured people are currently receiving treatment. A study into the blast has already been authorized by the state administration.


The relatives of the deceased will receive compensation from the company in the amount of Rs 50 lakh each. Additionally, it announced compensation of Rs 25 lakh for each critically injured worker and Rs 5 lakh for each worker with lesser ailments. Additionally, District Collector G Sirjana has guaranteed that the deceased's family will receive employment.
