Kathmandu: Two buses were carried away by a landslide and forced into a flooded river in Nepal early on Friday. Officials reported that at least seven Indian nationals are among the more than 60 passengers who are thought to be missing.

According to sources cited by the myRepublica news page, the two buses carrying 65 passengers vanished in the Trishuli River after landslides at the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road in the Chitwan district. Indradev Yadav, the Chief District Officer of Chitwan, attested to the incidence.

Yadav claims that the accident occurred at around 3:30 in the am on the Ganpati Deluxe and Angel bus that were traveling from the Capital to Gaur, headed for Kathmandu. According to authorities, there were twenty-four passengers on the bus headed for Kathmandu and forty-one passengers on the bus headed for Gaur.

According to 'The Kathmandu Post,' three people on the Ganpati Deluxe bus were able to get out of the bus by jumping. Information about 21 passengers traveling on the Angel Deluxe from Birgunj to Kathmandu has been received. The authorities have reported that there were seven Indian nationals on the bus, based on the most recent information.


Santosh Thakur, Surendra Sah, Adit Miyaan, Sunil, Shahnawaj Alam, and Ansari are the identified missing Indian nationals. An more individual remains unidentified.

"When a bus washed away by a landslide on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section, I was deeply saddened by the loss of nearly five dozen passengers and the loss of property due to floods and landslides in different parts of the country." I order the home administration and all other government agencies to look for and successfully rescue the passengers," Prachanda wrote on X.

The prime minister also conveyed his sorrow over the lives lost and property destroyed in many regions of the nation by landslides and floods. He asked everyone to adopt the appropriate safety measures. Superintendent of Police Bhawesh Rimal stated that members of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police are en route to the scene of the event to conduct rescue operations.
