"Chapter closed" for cricket, according to David Warner
After Australia won the World Cup the previous year, Warner announced his retirement from the 50-over format. He also played his final Test match of the year against Pakistan. He had declared that the T20 World Cup, which ended recently, was his final tournament with the national team.
After the recently finished T20 World Cup, Australian batter David Warner announced his retirement on Instagram. However, he left open the possibility of playing for his country again in the Champions Trophy in 2025 if he was "selected."
For the first time since the 2024 T20 World Cup, which he had declared to be his final competition for Australia, Warner shared his thoughts on Instagram. The daring opener did, however, also acknowledge that another tournament is yet possible.
