Kane Williamson, the batting talisman for New Zealand, has turned down the national contract, but he has stated that he would always be there for the Blackcaps in case they need him and has left open the possibility of taking the central deal in the future.

According to a release from New Zealand Cricket, "the 33-year-old has chosen to take advantage of a specific set of circumstances this summer in which very little international cricket is being played in New Zealand during the January window."
