In the race for the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, the Tejashwi Yadav-Rahul Gandhi Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) alliance was defeated by the Nitish Kumar-Narendra Modi combination (National Democratic Alliance). 

Both the BJP and its ally JD(U) secured 12 seats apiece. Another NDA partner, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), garnered five seats. Three seats have been won by the RJD, and it leads in one. There have been three seats won by the Congress and two by the CPI(ML)(L). A seat each was won by the Independent candidate and the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular).

Of the 40 seats in the state, 39 were won by the NDA in 2019.


According to the formula for seat sharing, the BJP fought 17 seats for the NDA, 16 seats for JD(U), five seats for Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), one seat each for Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), and 23 seats for the INDIA bloc, which included five seats for Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), nine seats for Congress, and five seats for the Left parties.

In Bihar, voting took place over all seven phases: four constituencies in the first phase, five in the second, third, fourth, and fifth phases, and eight in the sixth and seventh phases.
