The IMD's forecast is bleak for the coming days. It predicts "heat wave to severe heat wave conditions in most places over Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh; in many places over Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan; and in isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh."

Warm nights are expected to continue in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh, offering little relief from the intense heat.
