The upcoming Bangabandhu Cup 2024 will witness 12 teams vying for the esteemed title. Hosts Bangladesh, being the three-time defending champions, will participate in the kabaddi event.
The Bangabandhu Cup 2024 International Kabaddi Tournament is scheduled to kick off on May 26 in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Organized by the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF), this fourth edition of the Bangabandhu Cup will take place at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.
Named after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, the 2024 edition will feature 12 teams competing in the kabaddi contest.
The participating teams include hosts Bangladesh, along with Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, Poland, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Uganda.
These teams have been split into two groups, each consisting of six teams.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals. The winners of these semi-finals will then compete in the Bangabandhu Cup 2024 final on June 3.
The Bangladesh national kabaddi team currently holds the Bangabandhu Cup title, having defeated Chinese Taipei 42-28 in the 2023 final. They are also the most successful team in the competition, having won the previous three editions in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
