After BJP candidate G. Premender Reddy was eliminated, Teenmaar Mallanna and his supporters celebrated their triumph as he established an unassailable lead over Rakesh Reddy.

Although he may have lost on paper, Rakesh Reddy said that he and his party had gained moral ground.

On Friday, the second choice vote count that started on Thursday night resumed.
