On Thursday, Vishal Patil, the Congress renegade candidate who emerged victorious from the Sangli Lok Sabha seat, offered his backing to the Maha Vikas Aghadi, the INDIA bloc, and the Congress.
His mentor, Congress MLA Vishwajeet Kadam, who worked extremely hard to secure Vishal Patil's nomination, predicted that "with his support, the Congress strength will go up to 100 in the Lok Sabha."
On Thursday, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, along with Congress leaders Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, met with MLA Vishal Patil and his mentor, Vishwajeet Kadam, in New Delhi. Patil gave Kharge the letter expressing his support.
