Union Minister Says Navi Mumbai Airport Will Open in March 2025

Thane, Maharashtra: The Navi Mumbai International Airport is scheduled to open in March 2025, according to Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol.
Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, and Mr. Mohol paid a visit to the airport site to assess the status of the continuing work.

"Based on the way the work is going, the airport should be operational by March of the following year. It would improve connectivity with nearby Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Kalyan, and western Maharashtra," Mr. Mohol stated, stressing the facility's world standards and projected 20 million annual passenger volume.
He voiced support for naming the airport in honor of the late PWP leader, DB Patil. Additionally, he gave his word that disagreements regarding PAP (project-affected individuals) remuneration will be settled through talks with management.

The minister emphasized that the government is aware of project-related concerns and compensations. "We are committed to ensuring that people who have contributed land for the airport project are not displaced," the minister stated.

He emphasized the continued backing that Prime Minister Modi has shown for Maharashtra's development projects.

Speaking about the outcomes of the Maharashtra council elections, Mr. Mohol praised the performance of the Mahayuti alliance and asked the Congress to consider its own issues.
