Today In Mumbai, PM Modi Will Introduce Projects Totaling ₹ 29,400 Crore
Mumbai: Following the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) victory in the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to make his first trip to Mumbai since taking office on June 9 and beginning his third consecutive term in office.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, Mumbai, at 5:30 p.m., where he will inaugurate, dedicate to the country, and lay the foundation stone for many road, railway, and port-related projects valued at over ₹ 29,400 crore.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to open the INS Towers in G-Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, at roughly 7 p.m. The INS Secretariat is located there. The new INS facility will satisfy the members' changing needs of INS members for a modern and efficient office space in Mumbai, serving as the nerve centre for the newspaper industry in the city.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the cornerstone for the ₹6,300 crore Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) Project, which would involve tunnel construction.
Road connectivity between the Eastern Express Highway at Mulund and the Western Express Highway at Goregaon is envisaged by the GMLR. The GMLR will connect the Western suburbs directly to the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and the new, projected airport in Navi Mumbai. Its entire length is roughly 6.65 kilometers.
Additionally, at Turbhe in Navi Mumbai, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal and the remodeling of Kalyan Yard. Long-distance and suburban traffic will be kept apart with the assistance of the Kalyan Yard.
By increasing the yard's capacity to accommodate more trains, the remodeling will reduce traffic and boost the effectiveness of train operations. Built on a site that is more than 32,600 square meters, the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal in Navi Mumbai will provide jobs for the local population in addition to acting as a second terminal for the handling of commodities like cement.
The extension of Platforms Nos. 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station and the additional platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus will be dedicated to the country by the prime minister. Longer trains can fit on the new, longer platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, carrying more people per train and enhancing the station's ability to manage greater traffic. With the addition of a cover shed and washable apron, platforms No. 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Station have been extended by 382 meters, enhancing the capacity of the trains to accommodate up to 24 coaches and carrying more passengers.
