The government releases new exploration incentives and provides 10 new important mineral blocks.
With the release of the fourth tranche by the government, 48 crucial mineral blocks are now available.
The fourth round of the critical minerals auction was started by the Ministry of Mines, under the direction of Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy. A total of twenty-one blocks from fourteen states were offered, eleven of which were reoffered from the second round because at least three bidders had to be present. The government also introduced an incentive programme for licence holders to get up to Rs 20 crore reimbursed for exploration costs during the event on Monday.
The chosen bidders for the six blocks that were successfully auctioned off in the first tranche in November were also revealed; most significantly, Maiki South Mining Pvt Ltd, of Kolkata, has been given permission to do additional exploration on the lithium block in Katghora, Chhattisgarh.
