The Good Half, the next film starring Nick Jonas, has finally released a trailer. Priyanka Chopra was among the first people to share the trailer, of course, but more on that later. In addition to Brittany Snow, Elisabeth Shue, Alexandra Shipp, David Arquette, and Matt Walsh in significant parts, the film is directed by Robert Schwartzman. The nearly three-minute clip opens on a plane with Alexandra Shipp's character, Zoey Abbot, talking with Nick's character, Renn Wheeland. The two swap numbers upon landing. Renn meets his stepfather Rick Barona (David Arquette) and sister Leigh Wheeland (Brittany Snow) as he gets home. Rick finds it difficult to say what to say to Renn and Leigh after their mother passes away. Then, the video shifts to the siblings preparing for their mother Lily Wheeland's (Elisabeth Shue) funeral. Flashbacks show Renn spending cherished moments with his mother.
Additionally, Renn and Leigh meet their father, Matt Walsh's Dareen Wheeland, who exhorts them to pursue "personal growth and closure." Renn's path of forging a new bond with Zoey, managing his sadness, and mend his relationships with his father, sister, and stepfather are all expertly shown in the trailer. The Good Half is described in the teaser as "a story about love, life, and loss."
With the description, "Renn Wheeland (Nick Jonas) returns home to Cleveland for his mother's funeral," Utopia Pictures posted the teaser on YouTube. There, with co-stars Brittany Snow, David Arquette, Alexandra Shipp, Matt Walsh, and Elisabeth Shue, he rebuilds broken relationships while forming new ones before addressing his issues and attempting to deal with his loss.
