Tejashwi Yadav's 'Jungle Raj' remark at PM following the Bihar CBI team attack

Patna: Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav took a 'jungle raj' jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same day that a CBI team looking into alleged anomalies in the UGC-NET exam was attacked in Nawada, Bihar. Weeks earlier, Yadav had used the word to criticize the RJD.
"Observe the jungleraj in Bihar during your time, Mr. Prime Minister. Attacks were made on the CBI team who traveled to Nawada in order to look into the UGC NET paper leak. "Under your government, there was a paper leak, there was an attack on the CBI, and someone else's jungle raj?" he asked.

Political opponents of the RJD have frequently referred to the 15 years of RJD administration in Bihar under party leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and later his wife Rabri Devi as "jungle raj."

Leading BJP figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, frequently referred to the RJD's administration as "jungle raj" in the run-up to this general election, claiming that the state had emerged from a "dark era" under Nitish Kumar's NDA. Thus, Tejashwi Yadav's usage of the phrase "jungle raj" in relation to the CBI team attack is a shrewd retaliation to the BJP's onslaught.

The CBI team that carried out yesterday's attack in Nawada was there to look into possible anomalies in the UGC-NET exam.

The National Testing Agency, which is already facing criticism for anomalies in NEET, administered the exam. More than 11 lakh students signed up for the test. According to the Education Ministry, concerns that the exam's integrity might have been compromised led to the decision to cancel it. At this point, the CBI is looking into it.

When the CBI team from Nawada arrived in Kasiyadih hamlet yesterday to search for potential suspects, they were ambushed.

The office of the Superintendent of Police of Nawada released a statement saying, "A team of CBI officials was gheroed, manhandled, and attacked by a group of villagers in Kasiyadih village, under the jurisdiction of Rajauli police station, at around 4.30 pm on Saturday."
